18-1 The Almost Perfect Season

Put away the books, cancel the duck boats, and hope your not that person in New Hampshire who bought the 19-0 vanity license plate. Yup, its over. Finished. Done.

Plain and simple, the Giants won. In the end they played 3 points better than the Patriots, and I think all New England fans know that is enough. Super Bowl 42 was probably one of the most exciting to watch, and the Giants deserve all the bottles of Cristal they can drink. They won every playoff game on the road, including the most important one.

In a sick and perverted way the writers here at CleggThis are almost relieved. No more Spygate talks, no more allegations of running up scores, no more hair splitting analysis of coaches handshakes. Well, maybe that won't stop, but the staff here is going to stop listening. And writing.

Now onto politics. The Massachusetts primary is this Tuesday and since the guy CleggThis was going to vote for (Tom Brady) has dropped out of the race, the delegates here at CleggThis have officially thrown their support to...(key drum roll sound effect)

Barack Obama. After much (5 minutes) of thought, CleggThis may have thrown his support to McCain, but since there is no universal health care I am not sure the government can handle the ensuing heart attack he looks like he is going to have. Romney was the governor of Massachusetts, which means he was in power at a time when construction was going on with the Big Dig. I know he wasn't the fault of it, but he was here and thats good enough for me to hate him for life. Hillary turned on the tears to win New Hampshire and like Tom Hanks said, there is no crying in baseball...or presidential races.

Tom Brady and Barack Obama. After last night, no more Brady. Just think though, there may have been a chance that Bill Belichick would have been press secretary, and that would have just been the epitome of awesome.

So why does the institution of CleggThis support Obama? Simple, celebrity endorsements. Nothing gets me more jazzed and excited than Paris Hilton proclaiming Barack is "hot" or Will.I.Am pumping up a crowd of constituents with a roaring rendition of "Let's Get It Started."

Lets face it, politicians are about as different as the freshman class at Boston College. Yeah, you may some diverse candidates, but in the end you just have another group of people trying to get to front of the line at the keg. So you really have to support who supports the candidate. When Scarlett Johanson, Wil.I.Am, some guy with an acoustic guitar and Kim Kardashian supporting Obama, well hell, sign me up!
