Breaking News...Pharaoh Head Stolen
North Weymouth, MA - It was reported late last night that the valuable Yankee Swap Pharaoh head has gone missing from its rightful place at 20 Rosemont Road. Weymouth Police were contacted at 12:13am early Saturday morning by what can only be described as a very flustered admirer of such fine antiquities, Barry Clegg. "It was there at the beginning of the night, and then, poof, it was gone...I fell that a part of me has been stolen as well" said Clegg, the official owner of the artifact.
The head originated somewhere in southern Massachusetts and has been passed down each year at the annual Yankee Swap hosted by Stephen McCloskey.
"The Pharaoh head never had much value until it changed ownership to Mr. Clegg. He brought a value to it that no one had ever imagined, which now makes it much more valuable than before. I am surprised it lasted this long without being taken." Weymouth Police list McCloskey as a prime suspect, but have no concrete evidence as of this morning. Other suspects include "Vern", a neighbor and friend of McCloskey. "Vern" was not available for comment.
David Trainor, the owner of the residence and resting place of the Pharaoh head was holding his 30th birthday when the head was stolen. When asked what he thought might have happened, he continually repeated the phrase "Unit" until blue in the face and then passed out. Trainor is not listed as a suspect right now, but Weymouth Police are not ruling out his involvement in the incident.
"It is a shame that someone would do this" said Clegg. "I think it is a good indication of the downfall of our society."
Clegg is offering up a 6 pack of Miller Lite and 2 free drum lessons to any and all information leading to the return of the Pharaoh Head. Please all 1-800-888-TIPS to report any information. All calls will be kept confidential.
